Promoting your course!
- Write a short and compelling "teaser" that you can use in emails and invitations
- Twitter/blog/craigslist/social network campaign
- Reach out to interest group mailing lists
- Ask university professors to talk about it (and get involved)
- Ask the p2pu-community list to help you get the word out
- Identify communities that your course is most relevant to. Then post information to their facebook groups, online forums or mailing lists.
- Reach out to students in courses at real universities - the student groups - see if they would be willing to share in the experience
- Ask interested learners to "bring a friend" (Grockit.com research show this bolsters retention)
- Mainly for courses that have an offline component:
- Post flyers in your neighborhood
- Find a local hackerspace, coworking space, library and post an invitation on their message board
