P2PU Roadmap (2011)

Mission: to provide open and universal access to quality, online life-long learning and education. 

 


 

Q1: January - March 2011

 

High Level Changes of State: Early Adopters, Opportunity Driven Courses, 1000 Participants, Prototype Badges, Distinct Toolset, Course Focused Learning, 3 Languages (Eng, Span, Port)

 

March

 

  • Blog post on pulse of the community  (Matt, Philipp)
  • Call for April courses goes out (Pippa, Alison)
  • Update copy on p2pu.org/webcraft (Pippa)
  • Propose a course, take a course feature works smoothly (Pippa)
  • Badge pilot phased in (Erin)
  • End of course checklist distributed to course organizers (Alison) 
  • Course reflections are featured on P2PU blog (Alison)
  • Handbook is updated to reflect options for expanding learning formats and group dynamics (Alison, all schools)

When sign up closes is up to course organizers

Course Organizer Support

  • Organizers and participants are supported on both drupal + pilot/lernanta (Alison)
  • SoSI advertises $500 finders fee and search for animator role
  • SoSI begins course evaluations 
  • "Soft" course recruiting for SoSI begins with probable early adopters

 

Tech

  • 28th of March milestone
  • 11th of April Prototype milestone  
  • Batulanta milestone (see Github for explanation), 14th of March

 

Evaluation

  • Course focussed survey released, 07 April, 2011
  • Study Group / Task survey questions identified
    • Survey frequency / schedule added to roadmap.

 

May

  • Help/Support system in place (Alison)
  • Promotional strategy implemented for new.p2pu.org (Alison)
  • Review/feedback process for toolkits for offline/online courses for SoSI 
  • Blog about the community's first experiences on the new site

 

June

  • Help Desk acts as robust resource for incoming users and replaces handbook (Alison)
  • Promotions schedule and strategy in place for new site (Communications)
  • Orientation for all users in developed and ready for July (Alison)
  • Significant metrics established and collected (Alison, Tech, Research)
  • A short survey is in place for all users (Research working group)
  • Badges pilot phase 2 begins
  • Wiki gardened to perfection! ;-) (Alison)

 

 

Q3: July-September 2011

  • P2PU promotes large push for 2.0 release (Alison, Bekka, Communications volunteers)
  • P2PU all user orientation runs (Alison)
  • SoSI opens up larger recruiting push
  • SoW promotion
  • Metrics report due (Alison, Tech, Research)

 

Tech

  • 18th of July - P2PU 2.0 release

 

August

 

  • Improvements to all user orientation are made (Alison)
  • SoSI "blue sky" conversations initiated up for the next round of the vision, scope, and governance discussion, including new round of participants and possibly new partners at this stage.

 

September

 

  • Report on the results of the first two rounds of orientation (ALISON)
  • Consider connection with the re-booted PlanetMath.org site (SoMF)
